Since introducing the r350 grant, the agency has made it continually easy to make changes to how you choose to receive your money due at the end of each month after checks have been made across all the government databases to ensure that you still meet the qualification criteria for subsequent payments.
If you receive any money from the agency for which they determine that you did not qualify for the money, they will label your account and you as a debtor to the agency for which you are liable to pay the said amount deposited to you unfairly. For all sincere applicants who truly need the funds and meet the requirements, they are not to fear. Outlined below are the processes.
Changing and submitting bank account details or even updating to a new one is perfectly allowed after your application has been approved. There are steps involved for a new applicant that has just been approved which will differ slightly from an existing user who is just looking to update to a new account. With regards to choosing a payment option for new users, it will differ for those with a personal bank account irrespective of the bank they use and those without a personal bank account. For those with a personal bank account, the steps involved are pretty easy to follow. Visit the srd website and scroll down to the relevant section for bank info updates. Remember to enter your id number and select the link provided, a new page will load for you.
On the new page, you will be required to choose the name of your bank, provide your bank account number, branch name and account type. After these, you will need to agree to all the terms and conditions by ticking the box and finally choosing to submit. That will lead to the change you desire into their systems for the new information to be verified for subsequent payment if it passes the verification checks.
With regards to those without personal bank accounts, they should choose the payment option which is cash-send. This means they will be paid via the post office on certain specific dates. Then you agree to the terms and conditions and finally submit the banking details. The details that you provide will also be verified throughout the national database to make sure that you are not hoping to cheat the agency.
Existing beneficiaries of the grant who wish to change from one bank account to another are to choose the new bank name, then bank account number, branch name and the account type. Subsequently, you will need to agree to all terms and conditions and submit the new information.
Existing clients or beneficiaries of the agency who wish to change from cash send option (ie receiving payment through the post office) to their bank accounts have to go through this process. They will choose the bank name, provide an account number, branch name, account type and finally agree to terms and conditions by selecting to tick that box. Now you submit the new details after checking to make sure that it’s the correct one that you’ve entered.
You will receive an sms message to your mobile number that you used to apply with confirmation that you have successfully updated your banking details. Below is an example of how the sms will read like:
