Each month the covid relief grant is paid to beneficiaries in the amount of r350. This amount is according to the poverty line wage in the country. Once an applicant has been approved they will be paid for each month that a review is done to check their means.

This review is done to ensure that payment ends for those whom the agency deems to no longer meet the requirements for the grant. It is called the means test.

The means test is done together using a database gathered from financial institutions and government agencies such as the UIF fund, Nsfas, and South African Revenue Services (SARS).

This database is checked to see those who receive income or money above the r350 in their accounts or reported that the tax amount paid on their behalf suggests that they earn above r350. Those people are rejected from receiving further grant payments.

Some beneficiaries were approved for the month but received no payment just like those who had payment date set for them but received no money too. These people should receive their payments for that month according to the previous ways that Sassa has handled such events.

Yes all who were approved but received no payment from the agency should trust and expect to be paid their due amounts by the agency soon enough.
