Pending Sassa Appeals mean that the Department of Social Development is still considering your appeal as soon as a decision is made with regard to your request, they will communicate the response to you via their website when you check the status of your appeal.
All applicants are to submit a request for appeal by the dsd within 30 days of receiving the rejection notice from the srd website. Once the appeal is submitted it goes to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA) for a decision to be made.
It is required that the applicant requesting the appeal should first double-check all the info they have submitted to Sassa to be sure that it’s the right info and that the info is complete and correct.
Where you find any inaccuracies, be sure to update any mistakes or wrong information before you submit the appeal. If it shows to be necessary, update your contact information especially if it has changed from the one used to submit the application.
This is because in case you are successful with the appeal, the Independent Tribunal will require Sassa to send your payment directly to you for which you will need the updated contact info.
Once you are done updating the information provided, click the save button link and the new information will be saved to the sassa and Tribunal database. You will find yourself automatically redirected to the appeal’s website to continue to lodge your appeal.
It’s important that all appellants or their proxy confirm that they have read and accepted the clauses in the Declaration and Consent Documents. Once you agree to what you read, submit and wait for the confirmation message on the page to show up which will confirm the successful appeal submission.
Click “Submit” and look out for the confirmation message on the page that your application was submitted successfully.
Please remember that you need to submit an appeal application for each month that you were rejected for the r350 whether the application or r350 payment if you don’t agree with the decision made.
