Cancelling your application for the r350 grant with Sassa is not something that you should do without much thought. It’s understandable that most people do it when they are frustrated with the system and so wish to cancel their participation in the entire process.
Once you cancel your application, you are ineligible to apply again for that month. You will have to wait for at least 30 days to submit another application as your cancellation may take a while to be wholly realised in the database.
This is done to protect those who may have a quick change of heart after cancelling their applications. Once you wish to reinstate a cancelled application, you will have to use the reinstate application button found on the srd website.
Visit the srd website and select South African citizen, then scroll to the bottom of the new page and select the reinstate application button to start the process.
Your South African ID number will be required together with your cellphone number used to submit the application that was cancelled. Once you cancel, there is no need to reapply again. All you will need to do is to reinstate your old application and continue from where you left off.
