When to Collect Your R350 from the Retail Outlets (Checkers, Usave, Shoprite, Pick ‘n’ Pay and Boxer Shops): If your status is approved and have a payment date, your options have expanded to collect the funds at Merchant/Retail Outlets:

What do you need to have before you go to the retail outlets? When going to a retail outlet to access the funds, clients must have their Identity Documents and Cellphone with access to the number they registered with when applying for the grant a withdrawal confirmation message will be sent to the registered number that was used on the application.

Alternatively, all applicants for the covid-19 srd are encouraged to update their details on the system, to have the SRD paid into their own personal bank account, as this is the safest and most convenient way in which to receive your funds.

SASSA advises beneficiaries not to go to the post office to collect funds but to make use of the merchant/retail outlets. Payments for the new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD grant (from April 2022) will be paid as from mid-June 2022.

SASSA will continue clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle as and when the bank details are confirmed. The payments will not be done together but will be done month by month.
More than one payment may be made in a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount.

Beneficiaries whose reconsideration applications outcome was successful, will be paid accordingly. Reconsiderations from August 2021 are expected to be processed by the end of June 2022 and payments will then happen thereafter.

You can go to any of the retail outlets nearest to you and take your money. Most of the branches open every day including weekends. So now you don’t have to worry about the weekends when you’ll not be able to cash out your grant.
